History of the Student Newspaper:

The recorded history of thre student newspapers stretches back to the 1950s. The paper has evolved, adapted, and embraced various names, including: JCR Newsheet, Outline, Report Back, Piranha News, Jaded Palette and Phoenix News. The most recent iterations of the newspaper have been the Pluralist, which ran from 2016-2023, and the DODO (2023-), which has taken its name from a much earlier edition of the newspaper from 1985.

Our current editors, Julia and Bethan, release two editions of the DODO per term and encourage student submissions. If you're interested, see here!

The student newspapers are more than just a newspaper; they a testament to the dynamic spirit of student activism and expression. Through each iteration, our commitment to amplifying our fellow students' diverse perspectives, concerns, and stories has remained unwavering. We beleive in the power of journalism to shed light on the issues that matter most to our community.
