About The DODO: Celebrating Student Voices Through Time
Welcome to The DODO, a student-led newspaper with a rich history that dates back to the vibrant era of the 1980s. Throughout the years (going back to the 1960’s!), the student-led newspaper has evolved, adapted, and embraced various names – from Piranha News to The Jaded Palette, Off the Record, and most recently, The Pluralist.
As we step into a new chapter, we are excited to announce the revival of 'The DODO', a name that harks back to our roots as democratic and representative platform for student voices. Our journey is one of rediscovery, as we pay homage to the past while embracing the present and future of student journalism.
The DODO is more than just a newspaper; it's a testament to the dynamic spirit of student activism and expression. Through each iteration, our commitment to amplifying our fellow students' diverse perspectives, concerns, and stories has remainded unwavering. We believe in the power of journalism to shed light on the issues that matter most to our community. Anyone from the RCA community, whether staff or students, is welcome to submit letters, poems, drawings, or anything that they think would benefit the student body.
Join us as we embark on this exciting resurgence of The DODO. With a fresh outlook and a renewed dedication to empowering student voices, we aim to foster meaningful conversation, challenge norms, and provide a platform for the stores that deserve to be told. As we navigate the ever-changing university landscape, we stay true to our core values of inclusivity, accuracy, and integrity.
