SustainLab RCA Talk: Katrin Spranger – "Contaminated Landscapes"
As part of the SustainLabRCA Talk programme, join Katrin Spranger, a multi-disciplinary artist whose work spans sculpture, performance, sculptural painting, and jewellery, drawing on the stark realities of the environmental crisis.
Her practice addresses issues such as plastic pollution, crude oil spills, water scarcity and waste from her production methods using materials that directly reference human impact on the natural world.
In her talk, "Contaminated Landscapes," she will reflect on her work with copper sulfate and sulfuric acid - waste products from the electroforming process—highlighting how these toxic byproducts have inspired creative solutions for sustainable artistic production and a re-evaluation of ecological impact.
The event will take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 7:00 PM in Lecture Theatre 1, Darwin Building, Royal College of Art, Kensington.
