NOTE: We're particularly interested in students who are in the first year of a 2+ years of study at the RCA either as part time students, 2 year course students or PHD students.
We're on a mission to enrich the student experience through opportunities, support, influence, and action. And we've got spaces left on our Board for new Student Trustees.
As a student trustee, you'll be an essential part of the RCASU Board, ensuring that everything the organisation does is led by students and in their best interests while being compliant with best charity practice regarding probity, financial affairs, risk, and more.
What will I do on the Board of Trustees?
The Board of Trustees is responsible for setting the vision and values of the organisation, ensuring the delivery of organisational purpose, developing and agreeing on a long-term strategy and approving and monitoring plans. As a student trustee, you'll be an essential part of this team, bringing your unique perspective to the table and making sure we're doing everything by the book - following all the rules and regulations that keep us legit. You'll help set the vision and values of the organisation, agree on long-term strategies, and monitor plans to make sure we're delivering on our goals.
Qualifications
To be the ideal candidate for this position, you should be a current student at the Royal College of Art who's passionate about student affairs and wants to make a positive impact on the student experience. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. Previous experience in a leadership or governance role is a bonus, but not necessary.
