Chao Liu is an Associate Lecturer of Institute of Finance and Technology at University College London (UCL). He teaches Monetary System and Digital Finance module for MSc programme Banking and Digital Finance. Chao holds a PhD in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science from Queen Mary University of London with concentration in blockchain technology. The research and teaching are focused on central bank digital currency (CBDC) with ECB, digital finance, plastic waste management, and smart grids optimisation. He has publications in leading international journals and conferences in blockchain-enabled researches.
