Welcome to the RCA Student Union's Open Call for Student Stories! We are excited to reveal our brand new logo - a fierce lion with a horn. The merger of the lion and unicorn symbols from the Royal College of Art has created this mythical creature, and we need your help to bring it to life.

The winning story will be chosen by the RCA Student Union team and the winner will receive a bottle of prosecco at the ArtBar.
WRITE THE MOST ORIGINAL STORY
We are calling on all students to write the most original story about the mythological origins of this new creature. You can even name it yourself! Will it be Lion-Horn, Lion-Corn, Uni-Lion, or maybe Roger? The possibilities are endless!
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Here are the terms and conditions of the Open Call:
- The story has to be about the lion and its horn.
- The story can be of any genre - funny, tragic, romantic, or sad.
- The story must fit the 10-words challenge or the 100-words challenge:
TWO EXCITING CHALLENGES!
In this Open Call for Student Stories, we have two exciting challenges for you to participate in. The first challenge is the 10 Words Challenge, where you will have to write a story that is maximum or around 10 words long. The second challenge is the 100 Words Challenge, where you will have to write a story that is no longer than 100 words. Whether you prefer to be concise and creative or you want to write a longer and more elaborate story, we have something for everyone! So, pick your challenge, get creative and start writing!

10-WORDS STORIES
- Lion won a bet with a unicorn, now it wears the horn with pride.
- Lion with horn discovered, claims to be minotaur's cousin.
- Horn mysteriously appears after lion naps on unicorn's lawn.
- Horn proved to be missing unicorn's, reunion tour planned.
- Lion wants Pegasus’s wings but gets confused, now has a horn.
- Unicorn gifts lion with horn, bromance blooms.
100-WORDS STORIES
- Why did the lion have a horn?
“... Because an art student put the horn on the lion’s forehead as a commentary on the interplay between working-class struggles and capitalism. The horn represents the workers' struggle against the exploitation and oppression they face within the capitalist system. The lion, being a symbol of power, symbolizes the workers' potential for strength and agency, despite their marginalized status. By putting a horn on the lion, the project challenges the dominant narrative that the working class is passive and powerless…”, the student continues blabbering about his project chugging one more beer at the ArtBar. Is the day after the final Assessment. Everything is fine. You made it.
- In the ArtBar: a student is having a drink when a lion comes in. The college student says to the lion, "I'm surprised a lion is allowed in here?" The lion says, "Good for you". It ends like this. There is no joke. Go back to your studies.
